Tours of Edisto

Step back in time and hear the stories of Edisto's past as told by a native of the island.  Visit the private grounds of beautiful old homes and see the historic churches.

Edisto Island is located off of the southern coast of South Carolina - approximately 40 miles south of historic Charleston.  It was first inhabited by the Edistow Indians (giving this unique location its name) and it's first European settlement can be traced back as early as the 1600's.

This tour will take you off the familiar roads and back in time with a native of the island:
  • You will see stately plantation homes and hear stories about their former inhabitants.
  • You'll be given a sense of the culture and commerce of Edisto from its earliest recorded times to the present.
  • You'll visit historic churches and tour graveyards dating to the 18th Century.
  • You'll even learn a little about the island's flora!

Whether this is your first or your fiftieth trip to the island, Tours of Edisto is a great way to become more intimately acquainted with one of the country's most well-preserved Sea Islands.
